Book Sale Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help set up the sales rooms the Friday before a book sale. Set up generally takes around 3 hours.
Many hands are needed to help unpack and organize the thousands of sale items. Helping with set up is a great way for students to earn service hours.
Volunteers are also needed on Saturday and Sunday the weekend of the sale. People who have volunteered before may work as cashiers. New volunteers will be asked to assist customers and make sure that sale items are displayed well. Volunteer shifts on sale days last 2 ½ - 3 hours.
Many volunteers are also needed to help take down after the sale is over on Sunday night. Take down generally takes about 1 hour.
If you are interested in volunteering with Friends book sales, the we will work with you to find the days and times that work best with your schedule.
Volunteers are needed to help get window flyers up at locations around town in the weeks leading up to a Friends book sale. Flyer distribution generally takes about 1 hour.
Volunteers are needed to help shelf donated books once they have been sorted and priced. Book shelvers need to be detail-oriented, focused, and available to work in the evening on a weekday.
