The Friends supports programs and initiatives of the Mount Prospect Public Library with funds made possible by generous members and dedicated volunteers.
Since 1982 the Friends has raised more than $838,600 for gifts to the Library. This fundraising has provided the Library with equipment, programs, services, and other materials that it might not otherwise be able to purchase.

Join the Friends of the Mount Prospect Public Library for a two-day summer sale featuring deals on books, audiobooks, movies, music, games, and more!
The sale is open to the public and there is shopping upstairs and downstairs, inside the library and in the library parking garage.
We are excited to once again welcome donations of books, movies, music, audiobooks, and games. Don't think you will read that book, watch that movie, or listen to that record or CD again? The Friends will gladly accept your gently used items. Your donations will help support Library programs and initiatives by being included in future Friends book sales. |
The first Friends Book Sale of 2022 was a HUGE success! People turned out in large numbers to shop the huge selection of items in the parking garage and two rooms in the library. We raised more for the Mount Prospect Public Library in two days than we had done previously with many three-day sales before the pandemic.

Several times a year, the Friends sell new and used books, audiobooks, movies, music, and more to raise money for library initiatives.
