Friends Summer Book Sale Has Great Turnout

Friends Summer Book Sale Has Great Turnout

People on the hunt for good bargains found a lot to be happy about at the Friends Summer Book Sale, July 30-31. Shoppers turned out in large numbers for great deals on books, movies, music, and more at three locations around the library.

Shoppers found lots of high-quality books and other items for sale in our Better Books Room that were individually priced and conveniently organized.

Shopping in the parking garage continued this sale after much success and positive feedback this past spring. With every item in the garage being only 25¢, shoppers couldn't go wrong.

The Friends room was also open and, as always, was a great place for shoppers to look for fiction by author, non-fiction by topic, puzzles/games, and non-English language books.

To the delight of countless parents, teachers, and children, children's books were for sale in each of the three areas. They found each children's area thoughtfully organized to make shopping easy and fun.

Funds raised by book sale support the Friends of the Mount Prospect Public Library, a volunteer-run nonprofit that provides financial support for Library programs, building enhancements, and other initiatives.

For a great recap of the sale, check out this wonderful article by Diane Turner-Hurns that appeared in the Daily Herald.

Many thanks to everyone who donated items, volunteered, and shopped the sale! The Friends are so grateful for your generosity and support.

We look forward to seeing you at our next Friends Book Sale the weekend of October 22nd.
